Vintage Baseball in Huntsville at Lowe Mill

Saturdays are beautiful days for Vintage Baseball Games at Lowe Mill! Thank you to the Belles for introducing the Redcaps, Alabama's first 1860s vintage baseball team working to bring baseball back to Huntsville.

The original rules of the sport are different from modern day baseball--no gloves, no spitting or swearing, and a fly ball caught on one bounce is an out. The club takes baseball back to the days when the game was truly a part of our nation's pastime.

Another interesting tidbit - Americans spelled baseball "base ball" during the Civil War era.
