Heritage Landing Ceremony

Today Drummond Coal, the State of Alabama, Walker County Economic Development Authority, and local officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for Heritage Landing, which will combine residential and commercial space and create economic opportunities within Walker County for generations. Thank you to all involved in this project located along I-22 at Exit 78. A $3 million dollar federal grant administered by the Alabama Department of Labor through their Abandoned Mine Land Program is used to rehabilitate abandoned coal mines for economic development purposes.
