Yesterday the Smith Lake Environmental Preservation Committee (SLEPC) hosted its annual meeting, which included a State of the Lake update. Tim and I learned that Alabama Water Watch is under the Extension umbrella. Water enthusiasts, the group is looking for volunteers for water testing as well as cleanups. At this week’s Birmingham Committee on Foreign Relations meeting, our keynote speaker discussed the meaning of a pandemic and COVID’s impact on our nation and the world. I greatly enjoy being member on the Birmingham Committee on Foreign Relations, which is dedicated to foreign policy discussion and analysis. #Our67
Thank you to Tracy Estes for coordinating a meeting about an initiative to preserve Alabama’s story along the historic Byler Road, which spans from Florence to Tuscaloosa. The project has the potential for a tremendous economic boost for the cities and towns along Byler Road as well as nearby towns along arterial roads. The initiative includes historic markers, wayfinder signs, and partnerships with businesses, travel and tourism agencies, and residents. #Our67

Today we witnessed another expansion of REHAU in Cullman - a $65 million paint line investment. Over 300 shipping containers await with product from Germany.
