Workforce Development: "Shark Tank" at UAH
Yesterday I had the opportunity to be one of the judges for beEntrepreneurial - a "Shark Tank" competition that allowed some of brightest high school age business students in the Tennessee Valley to pitch ideas in front of a panel of judges who rated the products and services on originality, viability, and understanding of the procedural steps needed to make their concepts a reality.

The Alabama HBCU Co-Op Pilot Program is a workforce development initiative and an excellent example of collaboration between the public and private sector that will continue to strengthen Alabama’s position in preparing students for careers in an array of fields.
Fourteen Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) exist within the state of Alabama, the largest in our nation. We are looking forward to the talent that will develop as a result of these partnerships between education and industry.
