United Launch Alliance (ULA) selects Alabama-built BE-4 rocket engine for next-generation rocket9/28/2018
United Launch Alliance (ULA) selected Blue Origin’s BE-4 engine to power the booster of the Vulcan Centaur rocket. Now that the company won the contract, Blue Origin will construct their facility announced in 2017 on approximately 46 acres in Cummings Research Park and bring hundreds of jobs to the area.
The United States is in the space race again. And what an appropriate and nostalgic time in history as we, in 2019, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of man on the moon. The presence of these global companies highlights their important role as our state leads the nation in the aerospace industry. Alabama Political Reporter article: http://www.alreporter.com/2018/09/28/united-launch-alliance-selects-alabama-built-be-4-rocket-engine-for-next-generation-rocket/ Congratulations to Intrepid on another expansion in Huntsville's Cummings Research Park. Intrepid provides state-of-the art services that aid in national security. Thank you, Intrepid, for your work! #Our67
Some say National Daughter's Day was yesterday, others say it is today (I am unsure.) I do know, however, that every day this young lady makes travels throughout our state and nation so very special.
Roll Tide to my "long lived treasure," Sheridan. I love you with all my heart! <3 #Our67 #NationalDaughtersDay What a wonderful evening to celebrate a well-qualified, deserving person - Kevin Turner for Madison County Sheriff! Kevin's wealth of experience in the Madison County Sheriff's Department, DA's office, and training from his father will allow him to continue to serve our county well. #Our67

It was a pleasure to join friends George and Clara Payne for the grand opening of Huntsville Recovery, a clinic focused on individualized treatment for opioid addiction as well as other types of substance abuse. Thank you to The Payne Family and the entire staff at Huntsville Recovery for taking a proactive approach to solving this issue. #Our67
P.S. Mrs. Clara will willingly admit that she is ninety years old (and I will add - beautiful as ever.) This morning HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology celebrated the opening of its newest campus expansion - the Paul Propst Center. Thank you to the partners in the public and private sector who collaborate to make innovations in biotechnology happen. Huntsville, Alabama is changing the world with the brilliant minds at HudsonAlpha. #Our67
Thank you to Dr. Dewayne McCay, President of Florida Institute of Technology, for flying to Huntsville, Alabama today from Melbourne, Florida for an informative community leadership roundtable discussion. Members from the public and private sector - businesses, space, defense, government, and educational institutions - shared methods to better prepare the next generation of our state's workforce. #Our67 #WorkforceDevelopment
Thank you to all who organized Riverfest in Decatur on Saturday. The annual barbecue cook-off at Ingalls Harbor attracts competitors from across our nation and includes music, children’s activities, vendors, and award winning barbecue. Proceeds benefit the local community and nonprofit organizations around Decatur and Morgan County.
We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the breeze on the river with family and friends! (P.S. Check out the girls in the Polaris, Made in Alabama!) #Our67 It is difficult to put into words the emotion experienced today as we climbed 110 stories in memory of fallen 9/11 firefighters.
Each participant was assigned a fallen hero. To the family of Captain Thomas C. Moody, I will climb annually in your honor. #NeverForget Thank you to all who organized Hartselle Depot Days, a family friendly event in downtown Hartselle with crafts, music, food, and fellowship that attracts over 19,000 people annually.
A very special thank you to our friend Congressman Mo Brooks, who ran up into the stands and handed my daughter a game ball during the Congressional Baseball Game in Washington DC earlier this year - he signed the ball for her at Depot Days It was an honor to join Calhoun Community College today at the Decatur Campus for a ceremony to commemorate a new shelter for their Pre-Apprentice Lineworker Program. The shelter, donated by HDT Global, will allow instructors to teach courses directly on the lineworker training site, thus eliminating the need for students to travel across the street to traditional classrooms. This is a wonderful example of collaboration between the public and private sector.
#efficiency #community#SkilledTrades #Our67 Congratulations, Parsons, on the 25,000 square foot expansion of your integration facility.
