It was great to spend Saturday morning at Duncan Bridge Marina for a veterans boat parade hosted by the Rotary Club of Smith Lake and Rotary Club of Jasper.
Thank you to all veterans for your service and sacrifice. We appreciate all local volunteers for coordinating this community event to honor our heroes. #Our67 njw
Downtown Birmingham has historic beauty, excellent dining choices, and one-of-a-kind retail shops. Yesterday Tim and I enjoyed admiring local architecture, then dinner at Bamboo on 2nd, chocolate from around the world at Honeycreeper Chocolate, and a concurrent reception for a local boutique’s pop-up shop.
When meeting folks around our state, I am often asked, “Can we get ___ in our community?” Answer: The easiest way to recruit and retain local businesses is to support them! #Our67 #ShopLocal

GOOD NEWS : When a company grows rapidly and needs to choose a new location to manufacture its product or provide services, having a building ‘ready’ is a tremendous advantage in the site selection process because it reduces or eliminates many of the unknowns associated with construction timelines. The initial 168,000 square foot, Class A warehouse and manufacturing spec building (Building 100), part of a multi-phase project, helped make the site selection process more efficient.
REAL Park, located near the interstate, has a capacity to eventually expand into 6 million square feet. As qualified companies such as Trendco USA lease within the park, the long-term economic benefits for Macon County and our entire state will be profound.

Have you been to the Conecuh Sausage Co store yet? Last weekend Tim and I stopped in Evergreen, Alabama at Conecuh Sausage, located directly in front of their plant. The store offers hot food as well as various gifts, candies, frozen foods, and barbecue grills. We are impressed with the cleanliness of the location and the excellent customer service. #Our6
We are blessed to live in a state where you can drive to and from the beach. Here are a few scenes from our trip last weekend. Tim amd I did not have the camera out much and made sure to support local businesses along the way including Fisher’s Upstairs at Orange Beach Marina, Rouses Supermarket, and the Flora-Bama. #Our67
Last Thursday, we buried Tim’s daddy, Ray Wadsworth. A World War Two veteran, family man, businessman, and lifelong member of the Arley community, Ray touched the hearts of many during his 95 years. Tim and I want to thank everyone who has reached out with calls and messages to express their condolences. We can only imagine how the Lord looked at his father and said about his life well-lived: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Downtown Hamilton has a beautiful outdoor area created from empty space in between two historic buildings. This concept is easy to replicate and cost-effective for communities. Yesterday I enjoyed working outside for a little while, and other folks did as well. #Our67
