What a fantastic evening in Huntsville to kick-off the thirty-sixth annual Alabama State Games. Following in true Olympic fashion, the Alabama State Games takes pride in the Opening Ceremony, which features Olympic traditions such as the Parade of Athletes, the running of the Olympic Torch, and lighting of the Olympic Flame. Thank you to the thousands of folks from around our state who have chosen to participate in this very special event! #Our67
At yesterday morning's Downtown Troy Committee meeting we highlighted tourism. The Alabama Tourism Department brands itself with the Sweet Home Alabama logo and theme and is responsible for promoting tourism on state, national, and international scales. Many smaller municipalities such as the City of Troy have their own tourism departments that operate under the municipal umbrella.
Thank you to all who participated in active discussions on the importance of tourism within our state and how it relates to economic growth.
Congratulations to Governor Kay Ivey, who every day works diligently and tirelessly to better the lives of Alabamians.
It was a blessing to watch our governor express her gratitude for the Republican nomination at her reception and watch party yesterday evening. Thank you to all who work as a team to make our state an incredible place to live.
I am honored to endorse Governor Kay Ivey, who every day works diligently and tirelessly to better the lives of Alabamians. #servantsheart #teamwork #VoteKayIvey
Tonight I was honored to speak at the Calhoun County Republican Party meeting in Anniston and encourage constituents to vote for Governor Kay Ivey in the Republican Primary. Thank you to all who organized this well-attended meeting, the last large collective meeting prior to the election! #Our67
Thank you to The United Methodist Church for hosting the North Alabama Conference at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville from 3-5 June. A central theme of the conference - Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony (Colossians 3:14). Today was a blessing to interact with leadership and members from throughout the northern part of our state. #Our67
You may remember my dear friend Patti Steward's son, Will Steward, who was involved in a longboarding accident in June of 2016. Will (pictured) had a miraculous recovery and founded Claws for a Cause, a special annual event that benefits the Neurological Intensive Care Unit at Huntsville Hospital in honor of Will Steward and the team of nurses and doctors who saved his life.
Weather is beautiful this evening, and folks will be at the S.R. Butler Green area of Campus 805 until 8PM. Join in for a crawfish dinner, cornhole, and live music to honor folks who are truly a blessing to humanity. #Our67

Tonight I was honored to attend the 25th Anniversary of the Huntsville Bible College Vision Banquet. Thank you to dear friends Harry and Erica Hobbs, who also served as this year's co-chairs, for the invitation. Keynote speaker Dr. Robert Smith, Jr. of the Beeson Divinity School at Samford University offered beautiful words of wisdom. God can use any and all of us to advance His kingdom.
Thank you to the DeKalb County Republicans for organizing the third annual Sawmill Lunch. The gathering was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to see the Northeast Alabama Agribusiness Center in Rainsville. #Our67
