It was great to spend the last evening in May with friends from around our state at the Alabama Forestry Association's Guntersville Area District Meeting and Regional Reception at Dream Ranch.
Forestry is one of Alabama's dominant industries and therefore plays a key role in our state's economy. The Alabama Forestry Association promotes good stewardship of our renewable forest resources for the benefit of society and the forestry community and endorses candidates who are pro-business and who understand the importance of free enterprise. Thank you to all who coordinated the moving ceremony at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo today, a beautiful way to honor the fallen.
To my left is Major General James W. Darden, US Army Reserve (Retired) and the Alabama Ambassador for the Chief of the US Army Reserve. #Our67 I am honored to endorse Governor Kay Ivey, who every day works diligently and tirelessly to better the lives of Alabamians.
#servantsheart #teamwork #VoteKayIvey Thank you to the Cullman County Republican Party for organizing a wonderful Annual Dinner! This evening organizers gave statewide and local candidates the opportunity to speak, and we also watched citizens receive awards for their dedication to various civic responsibilities. #Our67
It brought me great joy to attend Valley Fellowship Christian Academy's Awards Day. Today my son and daughter both earned A-average academic awards as well as National Fitness awards. Congratulations to all students on your achievements. This little school on the hill is filled with love of the Lord, academic rigor, and staff members who teach children how to be good people. Thank you, VFCA. #Our67
Hawthorne at Lily Flagg recently acquired and renovated a multifamily community at 8309 Whitesburg Drive. This afternoon we celebrated Hawthorne's newest project and also heard details of an upcoming new complex - to be completed within Madison County in 2019. Congratulations, Hawthorne at Lily Flagg, and thank you for helping beautify Huntsville and for your contributions to our quality of life. #Our67
Today Accurate Machine & Tool (AMT) - Integrated Solutions celebrated its latest expansion in the city of Madison. Services AMT provides to the federal government and commercial sector include integration, prototyping and limited rate initial production, precision manufacturing support, and program management. They plan on doubling their workforce in the next year-and-a-half and are currently hiring machinists. Congratulations, AMT, and thank you for being a part of Madison County for over three decades. #Our67
Milestones: This morning we celebrated the first anniversary of Google Fiber in Huntsville. Google Fiber is available in areas of Huntsville now and adding access as we speak. Thank you, Google, for being a part of Huntsville and the state of Alabama!
This morning our friend Michelle Thomason, a well-qualified statewide candidate on the ballot for Court of Civil Appeals, Place 1, joined several folks from Huntsville and Madison County at the beautiful Rivenbark and Roper Antiques. Then most us returned this evening to celebrate Rivenbark and Roper's twelve years in business milestone. Congratulations to Ken and Randy on the achievement, and thank you for the invitation to one of Huntsville's finest venues.
This afternoon the Huntsville Police Department North Precinct hosted a Block Party. Businesses, nonprofits, local government, and schools joined together today to promote our community. Events like the HPD North Precinct Block Party are important to our quality of life. Thank you to all who hosted and participated. #Our67
Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. Whether they provide goods or services, many small business owners take pride in hiring local personnel and providing employees with relevant training in their fields, and the benefits of their efforts are then passed on to customers and the community. When patrons choose to purchase goods and services from locally owned businesses, a portion of tax revenue stays in our area, which strengthens our local economy.
Recently we congratulated Goldfingers Chicken on the new location, now open in Troy adjacent to Publix. This is a locally owned and operated restaurant worth your visit with locations in Dothan, Troy, and Saraland.#ShopLocal #Community Once again, Alabama made economic history. GE Aviation’s newest advanced materials factory complex, one of only two of its kind in the world, will produce state-of-the-art, lightweight, heat-resistant materials that will revolutionize jet propulsion. #Our67

Yellowhammer News (YHN) Article and Video: https://yellowhammernews.com/watch-alabama-republican-candidates-officials-rock-the-runway-for-huntsville-event/ This Saturday (12 May), Food Bank of North Alabama and Community Food Bank of Central Alabama will benefit from the Letter Carriers' Food Drive. Please leave a few items in the paper bag left by your postman earlier this week. This is an excellent way to teach our children and grandchildren the importance of helping others. #Our67
Today we did it. We Made Fashion Great Again.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Republican Women of Huntsville Fashion Show, the most well-attended biannual fundraiser to-date. Today was bittersweet for me because of the excitement associated with a major economic development announcement - GE Aviation - as well as the biannual fundraiser and fashion show organized by the Republican Women of Huntsville, the most well-attended event in the club's history.
I knew I could not be in two places at once. Because we committed months in advance to modeling for the (amazing and worthwhile) luncheon featuring Chief Justice Lyn Stuart, several of us missed the GE Aviation factory grand opening. That being said, I could not help but reminisce about when we (a community, a team) officially announced the plans for GE Aviation on 27 October 2015 with my friend, Jim Patterson. GE Aviation is expected to double its employment base (from 90 to 180) within the next year, with a potential of up to 300 jobs. Jim would be proud! We all should be proud. Thank you, GE, for investing in Alabama. #Our67 27 October 2015 - Huntsville, Alabama GE Aviation Project Announcement Pictured: Anthony Daniels, Nicole Jones, Jim Patterson, Mac McCutcheon What a night in Huntsville. My son and daughter also had their championship track meet. We are very proud of the Valley Fellowship Christian Academy Track Team! #Our67
Thank you, Governor Kay Ivey, for your dedication to Alabamians. We are honored that you joined us in Huntsville this evening. #Our67
A few weeks ago delegates from north Alabama attended the largest trip in Chamber history, with over 190 attendees. Here is one of the official photographs. (We are huddled close because it was also 36 degrees on this April day.)
Thank you to the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce and Decatur Chamber of Commerce for coordinating such an insightful trip. |
