On Wednesday Tim and I visited with all West Point schools and presented a grant check for over $20,000 ($5K per school) that may be used for educational purposes. Some planned improvements include playground equipment, outdoor areas, and book vending machines, used as a reward system for academic achievement and good behavior.
Thank you to Councilwoman Ashlee Phillips for helping coordinate the meetings. We are blessed to have West Point in the district! #Our67 Thank you to the University of Alabama Student Government Association’s Lobby Board for inviting us to a meet and greet. This organization is made up of bright minds interested in public policy and higher education advocacy amongst all levels of government.
Lobby Board, we enjoyed spending an evening on campus with you. We are so proud of our school! #Our67 Alabama History - 16 January 1967: The inauguration of Lurleen Wallace, Alabama's 46th governor and first female governor, took place. #Our67
[Official portrait] Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. today : What is Your Life’s Blueprint?
“And when you discover what you will be in your life, set out to do it as if God Almighty called you at this particular moment in history to do it. Don't just set out to do a good job. Set out to do such a good job that the living, the dead or the unborn couldn't do it any better." - Martin Luther King, Jr. April 2018 - Alabama History: I captured this image at A-Day. It is a rare moment of Nick Saban tossing the football to DeVonta Smith after the scrimmage ended and just before the Spring Football Awards began.
How Nick Saban has helped shape the character of the young men he has mentored is his most profound legacy. Thank you, Coach. We all benefit from The Process. Roll Tide! #Our67 “The Transfer Portal is making good athletes lazy and killing their decision-making abilities. If they make a terrible decision on the first one, they’ll keep switching schools. Eventually, they’ll find one that they’re good enough to play. That’s not how the real world works. It just sets them up for failure after their collegiate career ends.”
And-it is disrespectful to the school that provided scholarship funds and invested in them in the first place. Merry Christmas from our family to yours! May your life be filled with blessings this Christmas and always.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) GOOD NEWS :

Business, education, and healthcare depend on it. For the second time within a week, Governor Ivey made a stop in our area to announce a significant investment in connectivity. Through a $7MM investment in partnership with Cullman Electric/Sprout Fiber Internet, over 1,300 currently unserved residents in Cullman and Winston Counties will have access to high speed internet. Thank you to all partners for collaborating to bring broadband to rural areas. #Our67
Tuesday Governor Kay Ivey visited Oakman to announce an initiative that will provide over 2,200 unserved residents with connectivity to high speed internet. Grants like this one provided through the Alabama Broadband Accessibility Fund, as well as Charter Spectrum, have resulted in nearly $12 million dollars in completed broadband projects in Walker County.
Access to broadband is essential for education, business services, and healthcare. Since 2018, the State of Alabama has invested approximately $82 million in state dollars through grant awards supporting over 100 projects statewide through the Alabama Broadband Accessibility Fund. #Our67 #RurAL Thanksgiving 2023 #blessed

Recently the legislative spouses participated in a wreath making class. Crafting a festive wreath from scratch while surrounded by cheerful folks added a special touch to the Thanksgiving spirit. Thank you to our instructor for showing us how to make this thoughtful gift; it is a skill we can use for years to come. #Our67 #LegislativeSpouses #HolidayCrafting Alabama House Republican Caucus
