Townley's First Graduating State Pre-K Class

On Thursday morning Tim and I celebrated the graduation of Townley’s first graduating Head Start Pre-K class. With assistance from grant funding, citizens banded together for one of the finest adaptive reuse projects we have ever seen. The former Townley Jr. High School (which closed in 2011) is now the Townley Community Center, a 501(c)(3), which houses Head Start (preschool), the Walker County Sports Hall of Fame, a storm shelter, a Walker County Sheriff’s substation, and a warehouse for Alabama Diamonds and Pearls special occasion dresses. Congratulations to the Townley Head Start Class of 2022!
