Part of bridging the gap in workforce development involves reaching students in K-12. Last week members of the South Huntsville Business Association toured the new Grissom High School, which includes state-of-the-art labs for industries such as nursing/medical, architecture, and welding. School faculty members and administrators will educate students and parents about the certifications needed for advanced manufacturing and skilled trades, which pay decent salaries and can be earned in half the time when compared to four year degrees.
Thank you to Principal Becky Balentine and School Board Member Elisa Ferrell for facilitating the tour of the 350,000 square foot campus and for sharing with us about the new opportunities for area students. Comments are closed.
