Southern Research Construction Plans

We were honored to attend the groundbreaking Monday afternoon for the newest expansion at Southern Research. Over the next four years, Southern Research will construct a 200,000 square-foot facility in downtown Birmingham for genomics research. The building will include lab space, office space, and 60,000 ft.² of business incubator space. This project, along with the UAB Genomics Center just around the corner, will serve as a catalyst for Birmingham to become the genomics epicenter of the Southeast. Southern Research will have 150 new permanent jobs as a result in addition to 1,100 construction jobs. Thank you to all who collaborated in the public and private sector to make this happen. #Our67
