We are so impressed with Fleet Feet Tuscaloosa. Daughter was having knee issues, and staff used technology to analyze her instep and find an insert that has worked wonders. Thank you, Fleet Feet. Support this small business located on University Boulevard. #Our67
An Evening with Governor Ron DeSantis - Gov. DeSantis focused on topics that are fundamental to the survival of our nation - sound economic policies, support of American businesses, energy independence, support of our military and police, protection of our borders, combating the influx of fentanyl, age-appropriate curricula, and more. Thank you to the Alabama Republican Party for organizing this opportunity. #Our67
Today the Alabama House and Senate held a Joint Session to honor the retirement of United States Senator Richard Shelby. His tenure came back full circle to the Old House Chamber, 51 years after he served in the Alabama Legislature. Thank you, Senator Shelby, for your service. #Our67
Tuesday evening we were honored to attend Governor Kay Ivey's State of the State Address. A refreshing theme resonated in the Old House Chamber - Alabama’s business climate is strong. Economic development is a team effort, and our Governor has worked with the public and private sector to foster an environment conducive for businesses, small and large.
Quality of life and education go hand-in-hand with economic development efforts. Governor Ivey reaffirmed a commitment to education with a goal that Alabama’s K-12 students will rank within the top 30 states for reading and math proficiency by 2026. Governor Ivey called a Special Session to allocate ARPA funds and once again, cautioned recipients that this is one-time funding and not to be used as a mechanism to fund positions or maintenance requests that will need ongoing revenue to support. Your family’s contributions to Alabama’s youth and your fellow man are indeed honorable. #Our67 Roll Tide!
Saban Center, which is under construction in downtown Tuscaloosa, will offer science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs, theater, as well as outdoor recreation for school-aged students, teachers, and families. Saban Center is a public-private partnership made possible by a $1.25 MM gift from the Saban family and the Tuscaloosa City Council’s $8 million purchase of the former Tuscaloosa News site. It was great to hear from Governor Kay Ivey this morning at the Business Council of Alabama (BCA) headquarters on Day One of the 2023 Legislative Session. Priorities this session include reauthorization of the Alabama Jobs Act, continued infrastructure expansion (including broadband), a goal of increasing proficiency in reading and math in Alabama schools by 2026, and more. Thank you, Governor Ivey, for your work on behalf of Alabamians. #Our67

We walked and dined in nearby Ocean Springs, MS, a small city characterized by many small businesses. It was refreshing to see the walkability and beauty of the coastline and so many folks shopping locally for goods and services.
Thank you, Tim, for coordinating our beautiful trip. I love you. #Wadsworth Earlier this week the Alabama Forestry Association hosted a policy conference. Tim and I appreciate the meaningful content and focus on economics, foreign land ownership, and an appelate courts update. Thank you to AFA for coordinating this opportunity. #Our67
