Tim and I started Legislative Spring Break by spending three days exploring Alabama’s Gulf Coast. We stayed in historic Mobile and ran the Azalea Trail 10K, visited local eateries and historic sites, and drove to Gulf Shores with family. It was one of the best trips we have taken to Mobile in 4 years. #Our67 #Wadsworth
Thank you to the Alabama Grocer's Association for coordinating Buy Alabama's Best Day in Montgomery this week! This campaign creates awareness on the importance of purchasing made in Alabama food products. Our state's food retail industry supplies over 70,000 jobs. Next time you are at the grocery store, look for the Buy Alabama’s Best section and support your local food and beverage producers. #Our67
Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking our page from Arley, Jaylee Rouse, and her family on a tour of The Fitzgerald Museum, the world’s only museum dedicated to the life and legacy of F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald. Thank you to Dr. Alaina Doten, Museum Director, for your hospitality. #Our67 #Gatsby
We are thankful to have a wonderful group of pages and interns join us over the past two weeks in Montgomery. Legislative paging and internships give students an opportunity to assist with everyday duties and make an excellent addition to resumes for students interested on government or policy. Thank you for spending time with us! #Our67 #TimAndNicole #Wadsworth

Tuesday evening we were honored to attend Governor Kay Ivey's State of the State Address. A refreshing theme resonated in the Old House Chamber - Alabama’s business climate is strong. Economic development is a team effort, and our Governor has worked with the public and private sector to foster an environment conducive for businesses, small and large.
Quality of life and education go hand-in-hand with economic development efforts. Governor Ivey reaffirmed a commitment to education with a goal that Alabama’s K-12 students will rank within the top 30 states for reading and math proficiency by 2026. Governor Ivey called a Special Session to allocate ARPA funds and once again, cautioned recipients that this is one-time funding and not to be used as a mechanism to fund positions or maintenance requests that will need ongoing revenue to support.
